In the United States it used to be required that children be completely lice free before returning to school. However, with the pressure of child attendance being the main criteria to receive funding from the government, many of the school districts have changed the criteria for lice infestation. Public schools now allow children who have live lice to attend school and that means lice infestation is almost inevitable. Most private schools still mandate a lice free environment and will send your child home to be treated and require a certificate to return to school. We provide lice free certificates for those children who need it for school. They are not required by every school but some private schools still require them. Available upon request! Some schools only require live bug certificates which means all live bugs have been removed. The nits or eggs remaining are acceptable. We do not encourage leaving the eggs because it will cause another infestation in 7 – 10 days. This will mean you have to do the cleaning process all over again.
